At Kay’s Dancing Waters Swim School we have developed a unique and effective swim program that combines human compassion with exceptional teaching skills. Our talented and highly trained staff create a nurturing environment that’s fun and conducive to growth. We LOVE helping our students exceed theirs’ & Their Parent’s expectations. We run our program all year round in our one-of-a-kind Facility. Our Water is warm and we use an all-natural alternative to Chlorine for cleaning. All of this comes together to create a truly special and unique experience for our customers.
Now, let’s go over the types of classes we offer in our program!
Parent-Tot Classes: We recommend starting your child on their swim Journey as soon as possible. Early exposure leads to strong & confident swimmers! We will start them off with our Parent-Tot classes, where a parent or guardian joins us in the water to learn how to teach their little one to swim. Our Parent-Tot classes are one of a kind, just like us! We structure our Parent-Tot classes around teaching students at a young age to Self-Rescue. This makes these classes so much more than songs and splashes- but we also keep it fun and lighthearted while we are learning.
Semi-Private Classes: Semi-Private classes are very small group classes that work great for different types of situations. We can take students ages 3 years and older in this class, so, If your child is 3 years old but would NOT like to join a Parent-Tot class this might be a viable second option for you. In this type of class the Parent/Guardian is not required.
Private Classes: You could utilize a private class setting for younger students- but we only recommend this for special cases, as younger students often benefit most from high energy group settings that keep them engaged and give them the desire to overcome intense fears. Be sure to speak with your coach if you think a Private class might work better for your little one, she can always give you her opinion on which class type suits your kiddos personality best.
Beginner Swimmers: We will start kiddos into the Skills based portion of our program at ages 4 and up. Our Beginner class is Level 1. Your student can be a “beginner” at any age. That is okay! Our classes are meant to build a foundation of Water Safety & proper Motor Mechanics in our students so that they can progress through the Levels with ease. Students will learn so many skills but here’s a list of a few; breath control, how to float, how to self rescue, confidence training, proper mechanics for forward movement, underwater movements for ease, rhythmic breathing introduction, and so much more!
Intermediate swimmers: Levels 2 – & 3 are for intermediate students only. They must know how to swim safely in open water with no floatation device and only verbal assistance by the time they reach class Level 2. We recommend taking students through every level of our program for at least 1 semester course. Every Level of our program will teach your student so many valuable skills that are meant to build on each other!
Level 2 will see our students master rhythmic Breast Stroke, Flutter Kick, the full form Elementary Back-Stroke, deep water maneuvers for safety, diving & ease, and continue to learn rhythmic breathing.
Level 3 will see students learn the front crawl, scissor kick, Full form Breast stroke, the addition of the Racing Back-Stroke and much more!
Advanced Swimmers: Level 4 is for our truly advanced students! If you are looking to become a life-guard, get onto swim team or make swimming a career, etc we recommend getting yourself to this level so that you can easily fit right into the next step on your Journey. We are so excited to be a part of your journey to Mastery over the art of learning to swim.
Private & Semi-Private Classes: These small, intimate classes are perfect for students who need extra care and attention, for any reason! We recommend Private-style classes for students with special needs, students who would benefit from a quiet learning environment, older students who are just starting out, students who need extra time to work through difficult skills, or maybe even as an add-on to group classes to give them a head start!
If you are 18+ and would like to take classes with us, please book a Private class! If you are 18+ and would like to schedule a small group class with your friends- please find a Semi-Private class with 3 open spots and take all 3! You must take all 3 spots to qualify this as an adult group class. Adult group classes will be limited to 3 students per class.
